So, I have a yeast infection, recently took the diflucan for it (two nights ago) and it feels as though the infection is getting better, but my clitoris is still extremely itchy and sensitive to the touch.  It's also impossible to orgasm because when I try to rub it it just feels more like scratching an itch than anything sexual. Is this normal?? I've had plenty of yeast infections in the past and my clit has never gotten like this… and now I'm totally freaked out and worried that it's going to be like this for the rest of my life and that I'll never be able to have an orgasm again and asdfkjhadksjAAHH! If you can't tell, I'm a bit anxious.  Please tell me this will go away 🙁

In addition I’ve been taking probiotic capsules orally and vaginally… I read that it’s safe and beneficial to insert them vaginally but I just wanted to make sure, so if you guys could confirm that for me that would be good 🙂

Yup, it can definitely be normal. Hell my last yeast infection most of my itch was on my clit.

Yep, it’s normal. I’ve had a few where most of the itch was on the clit and it sucks big time!

If it’s still itchy, you might want to ask the doctor if you could have longer than two days of Diflucan. The last time I used Diflucan when I had a bad yeast infection, I think I took it for a week or so.

I’m not sure about taking probiotics vaginally, but I take oral probiotics daily which does help to curb yeast infections (I’ve felt a few trying to start, but never went very far thanks to probiotics), so if you don’t take them as an oral supplement daily, you may want to start doing that even when you don’t have a yeast infection. Not only does it curb yeast infections, but they are good for your bowel/gut health.

I find that yeast infections don’t fully go away unless I go for the full week of treatment without masturbating or sexual activity of any kind. I know it sucks, but I’ve had a fair share in my day and that seems to be the best way to get rid of them. Even though Diflucan just has a few days’ doses, it still takes 1 full week for all of the symptoms of a yeast infection to go away, pretty much whatever kind of treatment you’re using for it.
