Good morning lovely VPers,

This is something I’ve been wondering for a while and figured if I’m going to ask an embarrassing question, this is the place for it. I feel like my clitoris is smaller than I’ve heard some other women’s are. Are they all the same size? Are there in fact bigger and smaller ones, or is that a myth of some sort? Any thoughts would be useful. Thank!

There are big ones and small ones, definitely. Mine is so small that I honestly can’t see it. I mean, there’s my labia minora coming together, and I guess the clitoral hood. But that’s it. I only know my clitoris is there because it’s functional.

Glad to hear there are differences in sizes, that’s what I wanted to know. I guess size doesn’t matter here, as long, as you say, it’s functional. Mine is.

They definitely come in lots of sizes. Just like penises do, which shouldn’t be shocking, because they develop from the same fetal tissue. :)

The glans of the clitoris is the external bit. There’s quite a lot more to it, internally, actually. It’s fascinating. (Wikipedia actually has some decent information about the internal clitoris.) But the part you’re talking about is the clitoral glans. For some people, it’s tiny and entirely hidden under its hood, even during arousal. For others, it’s quite large – a couple of centimeters long – and protrudes even when not aroused. Most people fall in between somewhere, in my experience.

There’s not really a lot of benefit to having a large or a small clit… some people have a preference one way or another, but I don’t think there’s a functional difference. :)

Thanks for the info! :) “Functional” is the real point, I guess. Mine works and I think that’s all that matters.

Mine is hidden under the hood. I wish I could see it! :) I have noticed too, that it has grown a bit smaller since my hysterectomy, even when it’s aroused. At least my love knows where it is lol.

There has been talk that what WE think of the G Spot is actually part of the clitoris. I saw an image taken by MRI of an aroused clitoris and it’s amazing. It almost has legs that wrap around things inside :) No wonder we feel our orgasms as we do.

I can feel mine. I’ve, um, never looked. Too shy, even with my own body.

If you turn off the parental controls and search for “big clit,” you’ll see that they come in a variety of sizes, from tiny to surprisingly large. But I don’t think the size has much to do with sensitivity or sensation. A little one can give you just as much pleasure as an extra-large.

  8. WolNet says:

Variety is good. A working clit is also good. Thank heaven I have one of those! :)

They definitely come in all shapes and sizes! This wonderful book might be useful to you in learning about it- http://www.zoo-mouse-key.com/books/iceberg.html

Mine is bitty as well. Clitoris definitely come in different sizes, some of them barely there, and some of them, when aroused, can extend a few inches. Its all anatomy, love, and it’s all beautiful.

I’m so glad I found this community, ’cause where else could I ask a question like this and get straightforward, useful answers? I’m much less anxious about the issue, now.

mine is small, too. i’ve read of clitoris’ big enough to actually penetrate a vagina, which is kind of amazing, you know?

so if big is possible, small definitely is also. just like with a penis.

  14. WolNet says:

Wow, that is pretty amazing. I’m concluding from what everyone’s said that big, small, whatever, size isn’t important. Functionality is. Thanks, everyone. :)

I never had any luck masterbating because my clit is tiny, hidden, and hooded. I never knew it until I was 47 and a gynecological doctor told me. I told a boyfriend and then he started complaining “there’s nothing there” and all my men complained that I don’t like to receive oral sex. I am ashamed of it and stopped dating. It is a deformity, as far as I’m concerned.

That’s very sad, I feel very bad just hearing you say that, your body is a beautiful thing worthy of your love and admiration. Don’t think trees anything wrong with you, find a man who makes you fel loved and accepted just as you are?.
